Ah, I will! The policeman moved an elderly pedestrian across the road

Ah, I will! The policeman moved an elderly pedestrian across the road

In February, “Driving”, he talked about how in Kazan a compassionate cop policeman in his arms moved an elderly citizen through a snow-covered road, and now a similar incident occurred in China.

In the video you can see how a group of young citizens crosses a busy street through a pedestrian crossing, and a retired man with a wand moves after them, barely dragging his feet. When the cars caught fire green, the grandfather overcame only a quarter of the way, and then a policeman on duty came to help him. He turned to his grandfather’s back, crouched, carefully placed it on his back and briskly moved forward. Car drivers waited patiently until the operation to evacuate a slow pedestrian was over, and only then drove off.

Arash Motor Company comes with a new hypercar

Arash Motor Company comes with a new hypercar

April 19, 2018 16:22

Arash Motor Company: who does not know it? With few people there will be bells ringing, but Arash has certainly ensured many sportive violence. During the Geneva Motor Show in 2019 they will come up with a new creation.

That is what CEO Arash Farboud told AutoWeek during Top Marques in Monaco. In 2016, we met the Arash AF10. No less than 2,110 hp pressed Arash Motor Company from the V8 that they borrowed from Chevrolet Corvette. "The evolving technology goes so fast that it is ‘most likely’ an EV", let Farboud know. That would mean the end of the V8 and a new electric beginning for the English brand.

It is still for a bit wait, because Arash takes the completely new hypercar to the exhibition floor in Geneva next year. The 89th Geneva Motor Show takes place from 7 to 17 March. Until then, we will probably have to use this statement to do.

VIDEO: BMW M760i xDrive vs Mercedes-AMG S63 — Drag Race, Brake Test

While everyone is talking about the F90 BMW M5 and its AMG E63 counterpart, there are two other super sedans from both brands that are also quite good. The BMW M760i and the Mercedes-AMG S63 are two of the most expensive sedans on the planet and both have enough luxury to spoil Warren Buffet. But the real question is this — which is faster?

In this new video from Carwow, we find out which of those two German giants is fastest in a drag race, a rolling drag race and a brake test. Before we get to the results, though, let’s take a look at each of the cars.

The BMW M760i sports a 6.6 liter twin-turbocharged V12 that makes a whopping 601 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. That massive engine is paired with a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. It can get from 0-60 mph in about 3.5 seconds, which is seriously fast for such a heavy car.

VIDEO: BMW M760i xDrive vs Mercedes-AMG S63 — Drag Race, Brake Test

On the flip side, the Mercedes-AMG S63 uses a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8, which is 2.6 liters and four cylinders smaller. However, despite being significantly smaller, it makes 603 hp and an almost absurd 664 lb-ft of torque. That insane engine is paired with Mercedes’ own nine-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. Now, many people will argue why the AMG S63 is just rear-wheel drive when they know it’s all-wheel drive. But this test was conducted in the UK and only rear-drive models are sold there. So it’s unfair, yes, but the only way for Carwow to do it.

At the start of the drag race, the BMW M760i pulls ahead to a quick lead, thanks to its all-wheel drive traction. Though, it never increases that lead, it just holds the same half a car length, or so, lead until the end of the race and wins by that small margin. So that tells us that if the AMG had all-wheel drive, the race would be neck-and-neck.

In the rolling drag race, both cars start from 50 mph, in their respective comfort and automatic modes, to emulate a real-life race and negate the BMW’s all-wheel drive advantage. The BMW M760i takes off just a bit quicker and gets ahead but the AMG’s extra power and torque, along with its lighter weight, allows it to pull ahead for the win. So with both cars having a win, Carwow lines them up for a 70-0 mph braking test. The BMW M760i wins it by what seems like a handful of inches, so that could have been the Bimmer driver hitting the brakes a nano-second earlier. But, in the video at least, the BMW M760i still wins.

Both of these cars are astonishingly fast, incredibly luxurious and surprisingly capable cars. I’d sell a kidney to own either.

2020 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ spy shots and video

Lamborghini has once again been caught testing a more hardcore version of its Aventador.

And thanks to a photo of the car’s digital instrument cluster (shown below), taken from a video from the folks at Salento V12, we know the car will be called the Aventador SVJ, an abbreviation for Super Veloce Jota.

Lamborghini diehards will recognize the name from the Miura SVJ of the 1970s, an extremely limited hardcore version of the Miura based on the one-off Miura Jota prototype developed by Bob Wallace to meet the FIA’s Appendix J racing regulations. Jota is the Spanish pronunciation for the letter J.

Getting back to this Aventador SVJ, the biggest and baddest version of the Lamborghini flagship currently on sale is the Aventador S, which generates 730 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque from the familiar 6.5-liter V-12. What can we expect for the Aventador SVJ?

The car seen in the video and our latest spy shots should offer more power, but what’s more fascinating is the aggressive aero enhancements made to it. The rear wing in particular looks much like the one on the Huracán Performante. It suggests the Aventador SVJ features a version of the Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) active aerodynamics system that adjusts airflow around and through the car to control drag and downforce levels. The system on the Huracán Performante actually channels air through the support struts of the rear wing.

Other changes to the Aventador SVJ include a pair of exhaust outlets mounted close the taillights, as well as a huge rear diffuser similar to the one on the Aventador-based Centenario. Moving around to the front, we can see the car features a new set of side skirts, plus multiple spoilers in the front fascia. The track also looks to be slightly wider than on the standard Aventador.

Is there more power to be had? Very likely. The side intakes are definitely larger than on other Aventador variants, and the engine cover also has more vents than what we’re used to. With American muscle cars now delivering more power than Lamborghini’s V-12, expect this latest Aventador variant to get a boost in output. Something close to 800 horsepower sounds about right.

Lamborghini has just launched the Urus and the Huracán Performante Spyder on the market, so we’re not expecting the Aventador SVJ until late this year or early next. It should arrive in showrooms as a 2020 model.

Note, the car will likely be the last hurrah for the Aventador before a successor arrives with electric assistance. It was at the 2011 Geneva auto show that the Aventador was first shown to the world.

Sunday Drive: Rendering the future at Jeep and Ford

A week ago introduced us quite a multitude of automotive news nuggets, and knowing through the response of the readership, the Jeep Wrangler pickup brought the way in which. It isn’t likely to hit the sales floor until April of 2019, meaning we have all got a whole year to hold back, however that means we’ve plenty of time to anticipate its arrival. So we achieve this today with a number of renderings that demonstrate exactly what the so-known as Scrambler may seem like inside a couple of different colors.

Another group of renderings depicting a hotly anticipated new vehicle follow just behind. The Infant Bronco – will Ford ante to the retro-inspired table and refer to it as the Bronco II? – is going to be one size smaller sized compared to regular-grade Bronco, so we think it’ll contend with the Jeep Renegade like a subcompact crossover with a few real off-road chops.

Moving onto some tuners, both new and old(er), we first present a sweet old Dodge Ram pickup tuned by the one and only Carroll Shelby themself. Nowhere and silver striped truck looks so period perfect it sticks out like a star even alongside a quartet of vintage Shelby Mustangs that it’ll share space in the Bonhams auction in Greenwich, Conn., this June. And lastly we turn our focus on the Hennessey Veliciraptor, a complete behemoth of the truck. In line with the perfect Ford Raptor, the Velociraptor ups the crazy quotient with six wheels and 600 hundred horsepower.

Of course, stay tuned in to Autoblog now for the latest automotive news.
